Introduction:   What follows today's scripture reading is a list of some of the mighty men of David. These were men who strengthened themselves with him in the kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king. A new era had begun. God had appointed a king over Israel who was a man after his own heart. It was essential that David have mighty men to help him establish the kingdom. Like it or not, we have entered into a new era was well! Perilous times are here and there is a need for mighty men to be strengthened and rise to the forefront of leadership. (1 Sam 17:29) "And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?"

I want to tell you what I believe fathers need as we face these treacherous days:

IN THESE LAST DAYS A MAN NEEDS…

I.          TO HAVE THE RIGHT FATHER

On this Father's Day, I want to emphasize that, in order to BE the right kind of father; a man must also HAVE the right kind of Father!

·         (Gal.3:26) “for ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

·         (Jn. 8:44) “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

A.        Only A SAVED Man Can Truly Love His Wife And Children As He Should

B.        Only A SAVED Man Can Truly Lead His Wife And Children As He Should

C.        Only A SAVED Man Can Truly Live As He Should

IN THESE LAST DAYS A MAN NEEDS…

II.        TO HAVE THE RIGHT FAITH

(1 Tim. 6:17) “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;”

A.        Trust God, Not Gold

B.        Trust God, Not Government

C.        Trust God, Not Globalism

IN THESE LAST DAYS A MAN NEEDS…

III.       TO HAVE THE RIGHT FRIENDS

(Prov. 13:20) “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

(Psa. 119:63) “I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.”

A.        He Needs The Right Counselors

B.        He Needs The Right Church

C.        He Needs The Right Companions

IN THESE LAST DAYS A MAN NEEDS…

IV.       TO HAVE THE RIGHT FOCUS

(Lk 12:19-20) “And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?”

A.        Salvation Is More Important Than Social Security And Retirement

B.        Soul-Winning Is More Important Than Sports

C.        Service To God Is More Important Than A Savings Account.

Conclusion:     Our families need Dads with determination and the backbone to stand for right and that will lead them to a closer walk with Jesus. Is there not a cause? Do you have the right Father? The right faith? The right friends? The right focus
