WHEN GOD ROCKS YOUR BOAT
Jonah 1:4-6

Introduction:     God still speaks today (v.1). Jonah’s problem wasn’t hearing the voice of God; it was obeying the voice of God. There is no problem with the voice of God today. The problem is with the spiritual ears of His people. What does God do in the lives of those on the pathway of disobedience?

 

I.          GOD PURSUES THOSE ON THE PATH OF DISOBEDIENCE (V.4)

            A.        The Flinging Of The Storm

Most Christians are not running, but are drifting. (Illus: blow-out or slow leak, both go flat).

            B.         The Force Of The Storm

Some ships are sinking today.

II.         GOD OVERTAKES THOSE ON THE PATH OF DISOBEDIENCE (V.5)

            A.        The Awareness Of Deity

            B.         The Appraisal Of Possessions

C.                 The Anesthetic Of The Prophet

 

III.       GOD DISTURBS THOSE ON THE PATH OF DISOBEDIENCE (V.6)

A.                 Restlessness

Do you think God is going to allow His servant to lie there and sleep?

B.                  Uselessness

The shame of a pagan coming to a child of God for help and you need more help than him.

 

Conclusion:       Even the right decision can be the wrong decision when it is made too late.

It is always right to choose Jesus!
