THE LUKEWARM CHURCH OF THE LAST DAYS
Revelation 3:14-22

Introduction:     Perilous times are here! Jesus is coming soon. We don't know the second, but we can know the season. We don't know the time, but we can know the times. We don't need to look at the clock; we just need to look at the BOOK! God's word teaches that in the final stages of the "last days" certain conditions will exist in the world. Many of these conditions are visible today! God also has something to say about the conditions that will exist in the church of the "last days". Jesus is described in His Word as many things, here He is the Great Physician who is the TRUTH and always tells the TRUTH (v.14). The name of this church tells us a little about this church. Laodicea = "Rights of the People." Jesus says the church of the "last days" will be more concerned with the rights of people than the righteousness of God etc.

I.          A SICK PATIENT  
Jesus declares:

            A.        Their Disturbing Disease (v.15)

·        Your Not Cold

·        Your Not Hot  

B.         Their Disgusting Diagnoses (v.16)

·        Sickness Inside

·        Spued Out

II.         A STRONG PRESCRIPTION
(Applied in three areas)

            A.        Materially Prosperous But Spiritually Poor (vv.17a; 18)

            B.         Outwardly Committed But Inwardly Complaisant (v.17b)

            C.        Look Fine But You Lack Fire (vv.17c; 19)

III.       A SAVIOR'S PROMISE

            A.        The Location Of The Lord (v.20a)

            B.         The Love Of The Lord (vv.20b-22)

Conclusion:       It is possible to be religious but not redeemed. Let Him in! It is possible to be busy and grow cold. Let Him have His way! The latch to your heart's door is on the inside! Open up, let Him in!
