UPDATE FROM SOUTHSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH REGARDING CHURCH SERVICES AND MINISTRY ACTIVITIES EFFECTIVE THURSDAY, MARCH 19, 2020
Southside Baptist Church Family, we have been in constant discussion and prayer regarding COVID-19, and in light of the national emergency declared by our President, this is the current course of action. The safety and spiritual wellbeing of our Southside family is of utmost importance. At this current time, for Sunday, March 22 through March 29 we will hold Sunday and Wednesday worship services ONLINE ONLY. Our worship as a family will be a little different, however, we ask that everyone gather together in your home on Sunday at 10:45 AM and Wednesday Bible Study at 6:30 PM for our Facebook Live service. This will allow our families to worship together until we meet corporately. These decisions are never easy to make, but we want to do our very best to follow the leadership of the Lord. Please be patient and prayerful as we navigate through this current situation. We want to do our very best to follow CDC guidelines and their recommendations. We care greatly about the spiritual growth of our church family and will be introducing other ways to minister as well. All ministry activities outside of worship services are postponed at this time and we will give a weekly update. WHAT WE CAN DO • WE CAN BE FAITHFUL 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”. • WE CAN PRAY Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God”. Pray for our President, leaders, healthcare professionals, first responders and communities. • WE CAN GIVE As the Body of Christ, we can continue to give. Southside Baptist Church is a generous church and we want to demonstrate our faith by continuing during this time. Online giving is simple and secure. Please continue to monitor our website and Facebook page for updates as they become available. God truly is in control at all times and nothing occurs without Him knowing it. May the people of God, seek the face of God and not the sources of this world for peace. John 16:33 says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
