​Here at Southside we believe that Jesus Christ is the answer to all and that having a relationship with him is the single most important relationship a person will ever have in their lifetime. We know that Jesus loves us and offers to us real hope  and new life to any and all that call on his name.

Southside Baptist Church is a Traditional, Fundamental, Conservative, Southern Baptist Church and has been a part of the Palatka area for over 65 years. Our Senior Pastor Shaun Thomas has a vision for Southside to reach into the Palatka community and see souls won for the cause of Christ. We proclaim the whole Gospel Of Jesus Christ, and provide a preaching and pastoral ministry designed to meet your needs.

We’re not perfect
That’s probably why we make such a close family, because we’re all a work in progress and seek to grow in grace. When you walk in, we’re glad to see you! Don’t worry about having to measure up or fit in. Come as you are and let God do the changing!

We focus on truth
There are a lot of things you could talk about when people get together. At Southside, we’re committed to sharing the life-changing truth of God’s Word. You wont hear sermons about personal opinions, in every service the Bible is opened and clearly proclaimed, because it is undeniably true and perfectly relevant to every life. 

We’re normal people
Church people often come off as clique-ish, artificial and argumentative. That’s not who we are. Southside is known as a friendly, caring church. We’re like you - working hard, desiring healthy relationships, looking for encouragement and glad to have friends who share our values and faith in Jesus Christ.
